Daily Objective: LAFS.1112.RL.3.7: To learn how to understand and compose poetry.

Bell-Ringer: “A Bend in Time” When you’re giddy with excitement, does time speed up? Slow down? Tell us about the experience of anticipation.

Activity: 

  1. Work on sonnets. They are due Wednesday. They need:
    • Exactly 14 lines
    • A turn at the end
    • A metrical pattern, such as iambic pentameter
    • Sonnets may also have: a rhyme scheme and/or the theme of love.

Homework:

  1. The final draft of your story is PAST DUE.
  2. Sonnets are due Wednesday.

Daily Objective: LAFS.1112.RL.3.7: Students will learn how to interpret the actions in a drama.

Bell-Ringer: Write two sentences. Each should use one of the following words correctly.

  • slovenly: messy, dirty, or careless in appearance.
  • immaculate: perfectly clean, neat, or tidy in appearance

Activity: 

  1. Act 2 Quiz
  2. Work on Act 3 Storyboards – due 9/29

Homework: Vocab Packet 2 is due Friday.

  1. Open your books to page 487. I will give you a few minutes to read the stage directions, and then we will start the audio. We will try to read all of Act 2 today. Anything we do not finish, we will read tomorrow.
